What type of insurance is best for me?
DISABILITY INCOME- Provides you with an income if you cannot work due to a covered sickness or accident. Your benefit will be received tax free in most cases. You can choose a benefit of up to $3,000 per month depending upon you income. Elimination periods begin after you have been off work as soon as 3 days for a covered accident and 7 days for a covered sickness. Other options begin with 14, 30, 180, or 210 days. Choose a maximum benefit period of 6, 12, 24, or 30 months. These plans are customized for your own personal needs.
LEVEL TERM LIFE INSURANCE- Get the most life insurance for the least amount of money. You select the term period you would like to be covered for on your life insurance and your premium and death benefit will remain level for this entire time period. Your choice includes 5 year, 10 year, 20 year and to age 65 duration. You may also insure your spouse and children with this coverage.
UNIVERSAL LIFE-This type of insurance is considered permanent life insurance. Your death benefit remains level while you build valuable cash values. Your premium remains level and your cash values accumulate with a variable interest rate which will never drop below the guaranteed interest rate stated on your policy. This type of coverage may continue to provide you with death benefits after you retire as long as you continue to pay your premium. You may also insure your spouse and children with this coverage.
CANCER POLICY- According to the American Cancer Society- 2008, US men have slightly less than a 1 in 2 lifetime risk of developing cancer; for women, the risk is a little more than 1 in 3. This coverage is designed to ease the financial burden cancer diagnosis and treatment can cause. Your entire family may be covered under this plan which includes coverage for but not limited to hospital confinement, initial diagnosis benefit, radiation/chemotherapy treatment, family member lodging, surgery, hospice care, etc…
CRITICAL CONDITION-This plan will pay you a one-time lump sum benefit if you are diagnosed with a listed condition or disease. Some of the diseases include but not limited to cancer, strokes, heart attack, kidney failure, Multiple Sclerosis, etc… You may select a benefit from $10,000 to $100,000. Premium is determined on the benefit selected. The money you receive may be used for any purpose, since the money is sent to you directly.
PERSONAL ACCIDENT- This affordable program is an excellent way to provide dollars to you in the event you or a covered family member incur an accidental injury. You can be paid benefit dollars for hospital confinements, dislocations, fractures, emergency room expenses, ambulance charges, intensive care confinements, dismemberment’s, accidental death, etc… This coverage is a must for railroaders and their families of all ages.
CREW VAN COVERAGE (Third Party Transportation)- This coverage will insure you for accidental death and accidental disability benefits if you are being transported by a railroad owned vehicle or a contracted carrier to or from your work location in the event of a covered accident while in this vehicle. Any operating craft employee may purchase this coverage separately. Since railroads use contract services for crew transportation, you may not be eligible for FELA benefits and representation if a covered accident occurs. This provides you with valuable protection while being transported. Also included is an accidental death benefit while you are commuting to and from work in your private vehicle.
ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT- The death benefit is paid only if the cause of death is accidental. This is the least expensive type of the death benefit plan and specifically provides benefits for only accidental death and dismemberment.
